CHILD PROTECTION

Southampton Hockey Club is fully supportive of the England Hockey position on Child Protection and will set in place the following procedures to ensure that in the circumstance that a child is in danger from abuse or potential abuse that the correct action is taken to report any, and subsequently stop any such abuse.

  1. Nominate a responsible person to act as the Child Protection Officer within the Club.  This person to have attended a child protection course. (Currently this is Roger Merry)

  1. Draw up a process for reporting any incidents.

  1. Ensure that all people working with children are Criminal Records Bureau checked.

All coaches will be CRB checked and their number recorded within the club’s personnel records.

  1. Make sure that all people working with children are aware of how to recognise the signs of abuse and the process of reporting them.

With reference to the above R. Merry is nominated as the Child Protection Officer for the boys and S Crowley as Child Protection Officer for the girls.  Both have attended a CP course.
